About FK
FK is a web-based magazine writing on Latvian and international photography with the main interest area in contemporary photography in East and North Europe. FK was launched in January 2011 and is the successor of the hard-copy magazine Foto Kvartals (2006-10). FK’s aim is to create a discourse about the narrative and various contexts of photography, in order to recognize the diversity of photography’s functions as the most available and prevalent medium today. FK publishes annual Latvian Photography once a year in attempt to celebrate the best Latvian contemporary photography today.
Our English version was launched on September 19th, 2011, and it mainly contains materials from our Latvian version that relate to photography in Latvia, North and East Europe.
