Self Publish Riga 2018 TOP 10

Over 100 dummies from 26 countries of the world were submitted to the international Self Publish Riga 2018 contest that took part within the framework of Riga Photomonth 2018. The winners and the TOP 10 was selected by the contest jury – Dieter Neubert, the Founder and Director of the Kassel Fotobookfestival and Founder of the Kassel Photobook and Dummy Awards; Valentina Abenavoli, book designer, editor and publisher at Akina Books, currently based in Turkey; Lisa Stein, London-based editor and writer specialising in photography, the managing editor at the Photocaptionist and assistant reviews editor at the Burlington Magazine; Gintaras Česonis, director of Kaunas Photography Gallery, Lithuania; Evita Goze, photographer, writer and curator of Self Publish Riga. First Prize was went to the dummy Daffodil by Bahadir Aksan (Turkey). The winner will have their book published in colaboration with Kaunas Photography Gallery, Printing house KOPA and Antalis. Jury Special Mention – Y Minsk by Alexey Naumchik (Belarus), but the Best of Baltic – Olga by Zanda Puče (Latvia). The shorlisted dummies are still on view at the Self Publish Riga exhibition that runs until 3 June at ISSP Gallery.
