FK Artist – Marge Monko
Marge Monko (1976) is an Estonian artist, who in her photographs and video works examines social roles and the representations of women in society. She has studied Photography at the Estonian Academy of Arts. In 2008, she graduated from it with a Master’s degree. Also, she has had additional studies at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna and the HISK Institute in Gent. Monko has had personal shows in Tallinn, Helsinki, Budapest and Vienna. She has also participated in more than 35 group exhibitions in numerous countries all over the world, including the Riga Photomonth in 2014. She is also a co-founder of the Tallinn Photomonth and the Creative Director of the first festival in 2011. Monko is also one of the five artists, who won the competition and was awarded the so-called artist’s salary – a monthly scholarship provided by the Ministry of Culture for the duration of three years.
