There is nothing new under the sun
As an artist, I always try to reflect on our contemporary culture and the world we live in. Big words like the Anthropocene, neoliberalism, capitalism are recurring in our everyday conversations. I’d like to present these topics, in a manner that is not objective and dry but poetic. By juxtaposing the melting glaciers of Dachstein, animals under human control, almost Greek god-like athletes a narrative of our new age unfolds through the images. The series deals with the rampant individualism that underpins this social, political, and economic system, and in particular, the environmental impact that it has.
There is Nothing New Under the Sun is capturing the Zeitgeist of our time, without laying out answers to the viewer but guiding their mind and creativity into the direction of the story behind the images.
