FK Artist – Aija Pole

Aija Pole (1980) was born in Saldus, Latvia, and currently lives in Berlin. Graduated from the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences, University of Latvia. She learned photography through self-study. Participated in group exhibitions in Riga, Berlin and Pärnu. Her self-portrait series Balancing Acts can be seen in the latest issue of Latvian Photography 2021. “Looking at myself and my surroundings, longing to understand the world I live in, self-portraits and visual performances have become close acts of expression for me, which I use to explore thoughts and feelings and solve issues that interest me,” says Aija.
