Alvydas Lukys: 5 photographs, 5 stories

Alvydas Lukys (1958) is a Lithuanian artist and curator whose artistic approach is closely related with concepts of remembrance and everyday culture. In 1984 he graduated from Vilnius Engineering Construction Institute (now Vilnius Gediminas University of Technologies). From 1984 he is a member of Lithuanian Photoartists’ Union. Since 1990 he works at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, he was one the founders of the Image Studio, which later became the Department of Photography and Media Arts. For many years he was the Head of the Department but recently became a lecturer. Together with two other Lithuanian photographers Gintautas Trimakas and Remigijus Treigys they have formed an informal trio, sometimes exhibiting together as TTL Point of View.
