The Clouds, They Were Blown From a Far Away Land

This is a story about those people, who dare to leave the Plato’s cave and doubt the reality they have known so far. When they look at the clouds, they start trembling and they feel an irresistible desire to find out where they have come from. Like Sprīdītis (Latvian version of Tom Thumb), who went to conquer the big world, they want to know what lies behind the next and after the next mountain range.

Kārlis Bergs (1990) is a Latvian photographer who has studied photography at the School of Art Institute of Chicago and at the Brighton University. His exhibition The Clouds, They Were Blown From a Far Away Land is on view at the Careva Contemporary gallery in Riga from 24 July until 7 September, 2018.
